Delete Unused Elastic IP Addresses Action

One difficult task for the AWS account administrator is to keep track of used and unused resources. That’s why we’re adding more actions to help track down unused resources.

Today, we’re happy to announce a new action: Delete Unused Elastic IP Addresses.

This new action will scan your AWS account and look for unused Elastic IP addresses. When an Elastic IP address is found, it can do one of two things:

  • Delete it immediately, or
  • Tag it as “unattached”.

Later on, during subsequent action executions, the action will check to see how long the address has remained unattached. Once it passes a user-defined threshold (for example, 7 days), it will be deleted.

You can then have a report emailed to you with the results of the execution.

Full pricing information for this new action is available on our pricing page.
