After Friday’s announcement for our new Start RDS Instances action, we’re excited to announce the complementary action: Stop RDS Instances. Both achieve similar cost-reductions to your RDS bills. The difference is simply your desired workflow.
Like the “Start RDS Instances” action, with our new action, you can select RDS instances by the following:
Once selected, Skeddly will stop the RDS instances when the action starts.
As usual, you also have the option to automatically restart the RDS instance after a pre-determined amount of time. For example, you can restart your RDS instance at 8pm and stop it at 8am.
To achieve this, you can choose to restart the RDS instance. When selected, you specify the length of time that you want the RDS instance to be stopped for. At the end of that time, the RDS instance will be restarted.
In addition, when stopping the RDS instance, you can choose to have a snapshot created.
This new action is available today. Full pricing information can be found on our pricing page.
Note: If you have RDS instances that are Multi-AZ, you can use Skeddly’s “Restore RDS Instance” action instead to achieve similar cost savings.
